Boston Terriers for Dummies

Since this is in the “Dummies” series of books it is clearly geared to those looking to adopt a Boston Terrier or new owners. Still it does have some information that even seasoned Boston Terrier owners will enjoy.

At 270 pages the book is on the shorter side for a book in the “Dummies” series. Though it is an average length for one of their books covering dogs.

Written in an understandable way Boston Terriers for Dummies makes for a relaxing read which you can finish in one or two evenings. In the process you will get to learn some of the Boston Terrier’s history as well as some non-specific general dog breed information.

Which is one of the problems that I had with the book. While it does a good job covering the Boston Terrier it isn’t 100% Boston Terrier centric. Certain topics like dominance and health could have been covered in more detail. Other pages are filled with general tips. While this makes the book useful to owners of other breeds, people looking for a complete guide to Boston Terriers may get the feeling that the book strays off topic. However, since it is written for new or prospective dog owners that don’t have a lot of experience with dogs this is also a “feature” of the book.

My verdict. Easy reading for the new Boston Terrier owner and those looking for the fundamentals of the breed. Read what others have said about Boston Terriers for Dummies.

P.S. Boston Terriers for Dummies is currently on sale for $11.55. That is 32% off the normal price or a savings of $5.44. Get your copy while the sale lasts!
